Pandemic Stitching

In July 2021, I discovered a different way to embroider. It is called Stitching.  I want to share the work of Anne Brooke.  She has a group of videos on YouTube called #sew4thesoulbook.  Since I hadn’t embroidered for 30 years, I was intrigued.  I practiced her beginner stitches; I watched the videos, and I was enchanted.  I started on this wonderful journey.  Stitching is about taking it easy and making it fun.  Nothing like the perfection we were encouraged to master when I was a girl!

I loved the help and encouragement I discovered in the videos.  Anne is clear and shows you the ideas, changes, and decisions she made.  She demonstrates the stitches, shows her fabric choices, and continues to share her work on each page spread.  She shows her ideas for putting the book together, for adding beads, lace, buttons, and decorations.  She shared her work, and it was wonderful to watch her during the Covid-19 Pandemic when the whole world felt crazy.

I am currently finishing the final page of my book.  I decided it was important to share this and to find a way to keep track of all my work.  So here I am! I plan to begin a new stitching project as soon as this one is completed.
